I am a retired chemist who made a beeline for western North Carolina and Waynesville upon retirement in 2012. My love of the outdoors has its roots in fishing trips with my dad and my years as a Boy Scout, including a week-long canoeing trip through the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. My other love is photography and I concentrate mainly on capturing nature’s beauty. I got my first camera (a Kodak Brownie!) in the third grade and have been hooked ever since. These two passions clearly intersect at waterfalls, which no nature lover or photographer can resist. I am honored to be part of this organization to help protect and preserve these wonders of nature and to use their majesty to help others.

“To promote and advance the cultural, economic, ecological, and historical significance of North Carolina waterfalls; to serve as an educator and advocate; and to preserve waterfalls and facilitate their enjoyment in perpetuity.”
