I am the creative founder of Ch8sing Waterfalls, an organization empowering black women to find their healing in nature. The women of Ch8sing Waterfalls are forging diversity and changing the narrative, as they increase the opportunities for brown faces to explore green spaces. I have twice received the GirlTrek Adventure Squad Hike Leader of the Year award and I am the first ever Wander North Georgia, Wander With Grant recipient. I am also a Sierra Club trained adventurer. I was raised in the city, fell in love in the country, and now prefer to be outside, hiking and chasing waterfalls whenever I can. I have found strength in nature, and have chosen to share the magic with the women in my circle who also need their own healing. Ch8sing Waterfalls recently celebrated four years of introducing black women to hiking and empowering them to find their healing in a “safe space” of like-minded black women. There is much value in the mission of Waterfall Keepers of North Carolina, and I’m eager to join the efforts of bringing inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility to all who love waterfalls!
